At 40+ years and going strong, Riddle-Yates community garden is the oldest in Covington…and it’s right here in Westside. Residents can reserve a plot and do a little urban gardening. Contact Cate (cate@greatneighborhoods.org) at the Center for Great Neighborhoods for more information!

What doesn’t Covington’s Center for Great Neighborhoods do? Since 1976, this one-of-a-kind organization has served city residents on everything from housing to place-making to hosting neighborhood associations to sponsoring the Covington farmers market. And since the 2015 renovation of the Hellman Lumber Yard at 321 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd…hosting artists and artisans and community organizations of all kinds. Check out all that this Westside institution offers here.

If you’re new to the neighborhood or a long-time resident with questions about city issues, check out the city’s website here, and start with the ‘how do I?’ button at upper right. That tool covers most of the basics, from payments for property owners to how to report potholes.
Residents of Westside can also provide a new-to-the-neighborhood guide to any who have moved in recently. Just reach out and we’ll set you up!
Beyond that, take some time to explore city governance — attend a board of commissioners meeting, check out recreational programming, and more!
